BRIAN K. VAUGHAN TO PEN LEGENDARY ENTERTAINMENT'S 'GUNDAM' ADAPTATION • DIS/MEMBER

Gundam! Massively popular with the internet and every friend you had in high school’s big brother! Hollywood has been trying to make a Gundam movie happen for years, but it’s never really quite taken off ever.

I cannot imagine why.

But now, nerds of all stripe can rejoice because The Hollywood Reporter is a’reportin’ that none other than the prolific Brian K. Vaughan will write the screenplay for Legendary Pictures upcoming Gundam adaptation!

This is exciting on a few levels. One, I mean…fucking Brian K. Vaughan. You can’t swing a stick and not hit something amazing this dude has written. Plus, the report also mentions that the writer has signed a three-year deal with the studio. So should this go well, he’s got a potential franchise on his hands AND could develop some of his own stuff possibly! *COUGHCOUGH*Saga*COUGHCOUGH*

Plus, I have always felt like at least ONE of the Gundam shows could flourish as a big budget tentpole picture. No word yet on exactly which Gundam series this movie will be based on but easy money is on an adaptation of the first show, Mobile Suit Gundam. Which told the story of an expansive robot suit fought war between Earth and space colonies seeking independence.
