NEW ‘GHOSTBUSTERS’ LOOKING TO RECRUIT FINN WOLFHARD AND CARRIE COON

Read Time:1 Minute, 27 Second

Just like Dan Aykroyd threatened, a new Ghostbusters is on the way. One semi-centered around the original team. This time it’s from Jason Reitman, he of Young Adult and Up In The Air fame, working from a script he has co-written with Monster House director Gil Kenan. Other than it’s 2020 release date, that was pretty much all we knew about it, aside from that wildly overrated teaser and a report that said it would also feature a cast of mostly children (SUCK IT, GHOSTBROS). Until NOW!

Variety is reporting that Reitman is looking to cast Finn Wolfhard and Carrie Coon as the film’s first bits of principle cast.  I mean, yeah, sure! Wolfhard is kind of the obvious choice, a concern apparently shared by Reitman as per the Variety report, but Carrie Coon is a real get! She has been turning in consistently great stuff across the last few years, and it is great to see her getting more high profile work.

I will save you my editorializing about the general existence of this movie, the state of the toxic-ass fandom, and how Answer the Call is actually Very Good and Fun. All that aside, I have to say, I don’t hate this news! I have been kinda dubious about this one, guys, full disclosure, but the idea of it being a group of kids is a really neat hook. I mean, what kid DIDN’T steal a vacuum hose and pretend to bust some ghosts?

What do you guys think? Do you care about this movie at ALL? Do you share my love of salty parabolas (one of Answer the Call’s GREATEST JOKES)? Also how great are the IDW Ghostbusters comics? Let us know in the comments below.
